I'm here with some updates because it is WINTER BREAK! I've been waiting so long for this three week break because I get to catch up in everything fashion and I finally get an opportunity to breathe. Thankfully, I finished off my semester quite well and in between all the hard work, I was able to capture some fashion moments. I've decided to do a couple of posts on my blog here to update you guys.
Hello fashionable readers! It's been awhile (once again) and of course I'm going to say because of school and work (I recently got hired at Forever 21 and I love it so far!) But here I am with an update again! I'll keep it short and sweet this time.
The time has finally come where I have purchased my first pair of sneakers and I was beyond excited when I did so. It was kind of hard deciding what pair of sneakers I wanted, but in the end I chose 'Roshe Runs' because of their sleek look and they are so comfortable! I literally want to wear them with everything...seriously, no one will stop me from doing so.
Whenever school starts, it always seems like I disappear, which I have to admit...I do. I never really noticed how much of my time school takes up; I guess it's because I spend so much time relaxing over the summer and I have an uber amount of time on my hands. I've now embarked on my junior year in college and the work is coming in by the loads. There's so much I'm doing for example, taking all the classes that concern my major which is Apparel Design, starting a thrift store, and working in retail! I don't even know how I'm managing to have a break right now to update, but I'm glad I have one because I've missed keeping you guys updated on what I'm wearing and from where.
These photos were taken about two weeks ago! I am in love with high ponytails...they tend to show off my facial structure.
The hotter it gets, the less clothes I wear. I know some of you ladies can agree with me when I see going bra-less can be the best feeling ever, as long as it's done the right way. Oh yeah, check out the high pony tail I'm sporting. Might become a staple for me!
I am excited to announce this collaboration that I have done with Chelsea Vonchaz over at http://vonchaz.storenvy.com . The items on her website are absolutely beautiful and they definitely give off this positive, festival style vibe. I was sent this kimono and crochet shirt to display to you all and I loved pairing it with these shorts and these heels. The mix of blue, green, and orange looked good against my skin tone. Head on over to her site and check out the awesome items she has!
I always love to find gems in my parent's closet! The gem I stumbled across this time was a leather jacket that my mother didn't even remember that she had and boy was it a beauty! It was a little over sized for me, but over sized things are always wonderful in my opinion. Pairing the jacket with this lace shirt and lime green clutch really brought my outfit to life. Tell me what you think.
1. Lace Shirt - Rue 21
2. High Waist Shorts - Forever 21
3. Leather Jacket - Mom's
4. Spiked Heels - Karmaloop
5. Lime Green Clutch - Charlotte Russe
Also, I'm excited to share with you guys that I am the cover girl for the August issue of a women's magazine here in my city of North Carolina. I will be on stands in over 100 different locations and this is definitely a stepping stone towards my fashionable future!
I was a little late for dressing for Independence Day, seeing that this outfit literally came the day after. I've never been too big on dressing for holidays and in the end, I loved putting all of this red together. Red is a bold color, but looks so good against the skin.
Lately, I've been working more and more on creating things, checking out DIY tutorials, and sketching my own ideas. I am an Apparel Design major at my university and now that I'm venturing towards my late two years, it's time to start creating my own things. I found an old long john top in my closet and decided to quickly construct it into a simple, sleeveless crop top. I'm going to soon take the remaining pieces, such as the sleeves and collar, and turn it into a matching high waist skirt.
1. Crop Top - Hand Made
2. Dress turned skirt - H&M
3. Sandals - Shoedazzle
4. Vintage Baltimore Baseball Jersey - Dad's Closet
I was given the opportunity to collaborate with another Storenvy store called 'Amni Fashion'. They sent me this colorful, eccentric, awesome 'Adventure Time' dress and I instantly fell in love because I am a fan of the show. Plus, the material of it was very smooth and fit perfectly to my body. You can check out more of their items over at http://amnifashion.com
